
This course introduces students to the study of politics as a systematic academic discipline. Students will examine the meaning of politics, the nature of power and authority, the state, political ideologies, political institutions, political behavior, public policy, comparative politics, international relations, and major contemporary political issues. The course equips students to think critically about political life, evaluate political arguments, and understand how governments, citizens, and institutions interact at local, national, and global levels.
The course is designed to give students a foundation for further study in political science and related disciplines such as history, international relations, public administration, law, public policy, theology, and sociology.
