This course guides students in the interpretive techniques used in the study of the Scriptures.
Emphasis is placed on three classic principles of reading and the studying the Bible: observation, interpretation, and application. In addition, the courses will guide students in using various Bible study methods. Moreover, the primacy of the Scriptures and the benefits and dangers of one's own preunderstanding in the study of the biblical text. Necessity of adequately observing the text itself and interpreting the culture and context of the text in order to correctly apply the Scriptures will also be discussed. 3 credit hours
